Rachael Riggs

Rachael started her career as an association executive for the Association For Fitness in Business. Her dream was to be a corporate wellness professional and she thought what a better way to network than working for AFB. Along the way, she fell in love with meetings and events and has always incorporated health, wellness and CSR in her meetings and events as both a planner and supplier.  After AFB, Rachael worked on the meetings teams at SmithBucklin and The Sherwood Group. Additionally, Rachael owned her own 3rd party event planning company, RMR, Inc. where she served several technology clients including Oracle, HP and Sterling Software where she served as the Director of Corporate Meetings.

Rachael switched to the supplier side of the meetings industry and worked at the convention and visitors bureaus for the cities of San Diego, New York City and Baltimore.   Currently,  Rachael runs the Midwest Sales office for Tourism Vancouver. In this role, she has created many wellness FAMs and leads the #Vangiving program, a unique CSR program that combines social media, brand recognition and giving back for Tourism Vancouver. You will see #Vangiving making appearances at industry events. For her work on this program, Rachael was nominated for PCMA International Community Advocate of the Year in 2017 and won PCMA International Supplier of the Year in 2016.

In her spare time, Rachael serves as the President – Elect of the PCMA Greater Midwest Chapter.  Additionally, she a member of MPI and is published author on MPI’s C+C monthly newsletter.

Rachael believes that planners should integrate wellness and CSR into their programs to attract attendees, create an amazing event experience and keep them coming back.  Rachael shares her passion for health/wellness and CSR throughout the industry and now bringing it to a focused event in the meetings and events industry via HWF where she spoke in 2018.
